Job Summary
Guavus is currently looking for a candidate to fill the position of Operations Developer in Montreal. Being part of the Operations Team, the Operations Developer will actively participate and collaborate with the team during the analysis, implementation and testing of new product integration development. The incumbent will also be responsible to provide troubleshooting and resolving application software, network and hardware support issues. The Operations Developer works closely with Guavus’ Engineering and Commercial organizations.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and implement product integration and tests for customer deployment
- Develop and improve system tools for installation and monitoring (Puppet, Nagios, etc)
- Participate in the development of our continuous integration/delivery setup
- Play an essential role in delivering high-quality technical, functional domain support to the Operations team
- Responsible for the technical support of Guavus big-data analytics solutions
- Provide support to sales by acting as a technical expert during the sales process
- Provide customer training related to integration and monitoring of the system
- Configuration and customization of the systems to customers’ specifications
Qualifications and Experience
- Holder of a Degree in Computer Science/Engineering and 3-5 years of experience in Software Development
- Experience working in technical operations groups, ideally with an enterprise software vendor
- Working knowledge of distributed computing with high availability and site redundancy
- Solid understanding of Unix/Linux based software systems
- Strong knowledge of networking principles and the IP protocol
- Good experience with Databases (SQL; Oracle 11G; MySQL Cluster; Teradata, etc)
- Good experience in at least 2 of the following: Java, Python, C, C++, bash
- Experience with networking equipment configuration and troubleshooting (switches, routers, etc.)
- Strong analytical and system troubleshooting skills, as well as good oral and written communication skills

The developer will actively participate and collaborate with the team during the analysis, implementation and testing of new development features. Also, in the mindset of continuously increasing our quality standards, he/she will also participate in the development of our continuous delivery tool set.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and implement front-end and/or back-end java code
- Execute and implement automated or manual tests (unit tests, deployment tests, blackbox, etc)
- Participate in the development of our continuous integration/delivery setup
- Participate in the development of story reviews (Agile methodologies)
- Produce quality code that is well documented, and in accordance with system and technical specifications
- Maintenance and support of Java Applications
Qualifications and Experience
- Holder of a Degree in Computer Science/Engineering and 3-5 years of experience in Software Development
- Experience in Java and/or Scala language
- Good Linux knowledge
- Strong understanding of operating systems, data structures and algorithms
- Strong understanding of networking, concurrent systems and distributed systems
- Strong interest in performance and highly scalable applications
- Strong interest in distributed framework and technologies e.g Columnar Database, NoSQL and Hadoop
- Knowledge on distributed system papers written by Google or Facebook

Your Role
Guavus is looking for a Software Developer Categorization to develop and improve categorization rules and techniques. Working closely with various software development and sales engineering teams, the candidate will develop software tools and monitor various quality control systems pertaining to categorization.
Responsibilities
- Monitor categorization results based on established standards
- Maintain categorization environment
- Investigate and implement new categorization rules
- Provide reporting and stats on categorization results
- Participate on customers’ special categorization projects and initiatives
Qualifications and Experience
- Holder of a College Studies Degree (DCS) in computer science or any other relevant domain
- Have 3 years in software development
- Good knowledge in DPI, TCP/IP, user plane traffic
- Knowledge of network troubleshooting tools (Ex. Wireshark)
- Knowledge in wireless and wireline networks is a good additional asset
- Interest in highly scalable applications and Big Data

Your Role
Guavus is looking for a Senior Strategist to join its Product Management team to lead, design and advise on how our customers leverage and monetize their customer-related data and associated insights, either directly or via strategic alliances with partners.
This is an amazing opportunity for an individual who is ready to be challenged and take their career to the next level. You will work closely with multiple teams and senior management (internally and externally) to define, launch and manage Big Data Monetization products designed for Communication Service Providers (CSPs).
Responsibilities
- Understand the CSP business strategy & vision and assess how data monetization fits into their overall objectives
- Act as an expert advisor on all matters related to CSP Big Data Monetization (e.g. mobile advertising, content personalization, etc.)
- Identify potential partners and assist CSPs in structuring new agreements, convincing potential partners of the merits of a partnership, and assist in negotiating and obtaining signed agreements
- Support CSP teams to develop and manage a series of pilots with selected partners to validate their data monetization strategy, extract key learnings and refine strategies and expectations accordingly
- Work with Guavus management team in developing data monetization product strategies and new products by determining, among other factors, use cases for CSP data, the size of the opportunities and the key success factors for our customers (Revenue targets, Milestones, etc)
- Convert strategy to execution, including the development of business requirements to the product team and generate PRD/MRD documentation when required
- Proactively gather and analyze internal and external data such as industry trends, competitive information, market potential, pricing trends, and product data
- Support sales & marketing efforts by delivering presentations, sales training, product demonstrations and by attending trade shows, industry meetings etc.
Qualification and Experience
- Holder of a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or Information Technology. Masters Degree is an asset.
- Possess 8+ years of product management experience in digital marketing. Experience in business consulting and media agency is an asset.
- Excellent knowledge of the following fields: Business Intelligence/Analytics, CSP Marketing, Mobile/Digital Advertising and Audience Measurement
- Experience in business & investment analytics with sufficient technical aptitudes to understand and influence technology issues
- Skilled negotiator and strategic thinker, with refined business acumen and exemplary communication/presentation skills
- Ability to work with teams located in multiple sites and time-zones
- Must be able to travel frequently outside of Canada
- Bilingual with excellent written and oral communication skills
